Dean Carleton Toda, born on January 27, 1986, was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he joined the Acacia Fraternity and was elected vice president, served on several committee chairs, and made life-long friends. After college, Brother Toda moved to the New York City area. While living far away and being very busy with work, he would come to a random Founders Day or Homecoming now and then. While around, he would love to get to know the actives and would always give advice and a little money for them to have fun.

On February 11th, 2023, just after his 37th birthday, Dean unfortunately passed away from cancer while home surrounded by loved ones. This scholarship has been created in his memory, and will be given each year to a current active member of the Wisconsin Chapter of Acacia
